GWES Office Upfit – Perry, GA

Located in the heart of downtown Perry, this 2,400 square foot historic sheriff’s office has been thoughtfully reimagined, blending its rich past with modern functionality. The design intent was to preserve the building’s storied character while transforming it into a dynamic, contemporary office space that meets the needs of today’s professionals. The result is a seamless convergence of history and modernity, where tradition and innovation coexist.

Upon entering, the preservation of original architectural elements is immediately evident. Exposed brick walls, vintage ironwork, and original wood detailing pay homage to the building’s heritage, offering a glimpse into its past life as a sheriff’s office. However, the space has been redefined with a series of sleek, modern interventions that make it highly functional for today’s standards.

The renovation includes a range of flexible meeting spaces, private offices, and upgraded restrooms, each designed with clean lines and modern finishes that enhance the building’s timeless character. A small gym amenity adds a touch of convenience for employees, providing a space for wellness in the midst of this urban work environment.

The design bridges old and new in a way that feels effortless. Modern glass partitions, minimalist lighting, and contemporary furnishings contrast with the historic bones of the building, creating a symphony of purpose where past and present are interwoven. The overall layout is designed to foster collaboration, while still offering quiet, private spaces for focused work.

This project exemplifies the firm’s commitment to honoring architectural heritage while creating spaces that serve the evolving needs of modern users. The transformation of the sheriff’s office into a vibrant, functional office space is a testament to the power of thoughtful design and adaptive reuse.
